June 28, 2011 with Mike Trombley [Cassette Archives]

Mike Trombley has made a very successful transition from an in-demand musician to an in-demand DJ. I first met him as the friendly clerk at Harmony House Berkley and then got to know him much better as the drummer of the Sights in two different eras. He has since created several DJ nights which have faithful attendees: Macho City, Happy Endings, and his new night, M E N E R G Y. Mike is the kind of DJ that has a BPM sticker on all of his records so he can beat match a perfect transition from one song to the next. Because of this, we compromised and traded off every two songs instead every song per usual. That night I decided to play a ton of Rod Temperton songs, which is always a good idea.
