December 20, 2011 with Phreddy Wischusen – White Winter Wonderland

For our holiday party, we pulled all the stops. Phreddy Wischusen, the dynamic and engaging personality that once was the heart of the Crofoot’s Vernor’s Lounge and now is everywhere, was the guest DJ. Frank Woodman, another memorable character, assembled his family and friends to perform a special Woodman holiday set of Christmas originals. There was a dancing, drinking and I got an awesome bird clock as a white elephant gift.  I stuck to Christmas music almost all night, which was way better than it sounds.

October 25, 2011: ZOMBIE DANCE PARTY 8 with Dan Augustine [Cassette Archives]

The 8th Annual Zombie Dance Party returned to its roots in Ferndale for the first time since its original incarnation in Carey’s garage! I tried to stick to music that was at least loosely Halloween themed almost the entire night. Dan Augustine was my guest DJ, and there were a variety of other activities going on, including the Zombinator, caricatures by Annette, live performances by “The Monks” and the Beggars. October 18, 2011 with Adam Pierce and Steve Snitch

This night was a birthday celebration for Carey Gustafson, co-creator of Tuesday In the Forest and one of the bartenders every week, who invited her sweetheart Adam and his pal Steve to guest DJ. It was also a few days after Adam’s birthday, so the party was doubled down. Adam and Steve upped the noise and weirdo quotient in the forest, which was perfect for the week before Halloween. We made TWO tapes of the night, one for a guest to win and a second one for posterity, so you can hear a full three hours of the night below!
